Gold Coast couple relocate to Broken Hill to take over iconic Bells Milk Bar business

 A chance visit to a local landmark on Patton Street in Broken Hill's south last year has inspired a Gold Coast-based couple to pack up their lives and start new ones in the Silver City. 

Matt and Chelsea Spresser visited Broken Hill last August to attend the Mundi Mundi Bash and were trying to find a local laundromat after five days on the dusty plains.

Mr Spresser said it was during this early morning search that they stumbled across Bells Milk Bar only a few doors down and popped in for a milkshake.

Santos confirms Cooper Basin pipeline explosion, as protesters converge on company AGM

 Oil and gas company Santos has confirmed a pipeline in South Australia exploded in January, as Aboriginal traditional owners walked out of a heated Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Adelaide. The South Australian Department for Energy and Mining (DEM) said it was notified about the incident, which occurred at the Big Lake gas field in the Cooper Basin on January 25. Resources website Energy News Bulletin described it as a "major explosion", citing anonymous Santos managers and on-site workers. The pipeline runs to the Moomba processing facility 750 kilometres north-east of Adelaide.
